In the News: "A Really Tough Job: Nonprofit CEOs Work to Make Their Roles More Manageable."

I was thrilled to have my thoughts included by Ben Grose in The Chronicle of Philanthropy’s recent survey of Nonprofit CEOs. Leadership is more challenging than ever, and while many express satisfaction with their work, they also note that their roles are complex and one third plan to retire.

(excerpt) “I am constantly asking myself whether I’m still the right person for the job,” Fu says. “It’s a demanding job,and it’s also a job where I feel like you have to have a fi re for it. … And I would say, during the pandemic, andespecially from the polarization, things have gotten a lot heavier.”
